The Electronically Controlled Shifting Protection System of Self Loading Mixer

The self batching concrete truck is a combination of concrete mixer and concrete truck, automatically finishing the whole process from loading, metering, mixing to discharging. With self-walking capability, hydrostatic transmission, four-wheel drive, and four-wheel steering, it is particularly suitable for construction operations within a narrow space.

The driving system of self loading mixer hydraulic pump, hydraulic motor, gearbox and axle. The self mixer adopts hydraulic gearbox, with high and low gear options. The high and low speed ratios of the transmission are 1.07 and 5.06 respectively.

The gearbox outputs high speed and low torque at high gears for high-speed transportation; the gearbox outputs low speed and high torque at low gears for climbing. The gearbox shifting principle is to switch the flow of shifting hydraulic oil on the gearbox by operating the shift solenoid valve button in the cab to achieve the shift.

There is no shift protection in this shifting system. If the operator mistakenly operates the shift button while the vehicle is running, the gearbox will shift forcefully at high speed, and the high-speed gears in the gearbox will be damaged.

The electronically controlled shift protection system(ECSP) adds a speed sensor and a signal converter to the original shift system. The speed sensor collects the speed of the gearbox output and transmits it to the signal converter. When the output speed of the speed sensor is zero, the converter outputs a signal to the shift switch, and then the operation of the shift switch will be effective.

When the output speed of the speed sensor is not zero, the signal converter does not output a signal to the shift switch, and the operation of the shift switch is invalid. The electronically controlled shift protection system has high reliability and can fundamentally eliminate speed shifts when the truck is driving. The added speed sensor and signal converter are easy to install.

With such protection, the speed switch of the self loading transit mixer will be safer and smoother.
